Kristie P. here, comin' atcha! I thought I'd brainstorm some of my fav snacks since most days I wanna bury my face in a bowl of Sour cream and onion potato chips! The green bag makes me go crazy yo! I have to totally bypass that aisle in the grocery--but we all have our weaknesses right? How funny that my husband's weakness is sour gummy worms--4 year old much?
Anywho, I was going through my cabinets phone looking for some pics/ideas for some hearty, healthy snacks under 150 calories.
My absolute favorite! Tomatoes and 1/2 cup cottage cheese for 120 calories. These tomates are just about white right now (thanks greenhouse gases) but I LOVE to eat these straight out of our garden with some pepper and just a dash of salt come summa summa summatime!Almonds. These are a superfood, I never really liked them until I started trying them and was so happy with how they filled me up. You can have 12 or a handful for 80 calories.
Wedge of Light Laughing cow cheese and 11 pretzel chips. I can't stay away from carbs all the time y'all! These laughing cow wedges are nice and portable and added with some pretzel chips for the salty girl in me makes them 145 calories.
Carrots with 2 tbsp of garlic hummus. This is another fun dip snack that makes me feel suprisingly full. For a total of 90 calories, sign me up!
Like I said before, I'm a salty gal, but some of my fav non-salty snacks are:
- half a grapefruit~53 calories
- clementine and string cheese~110 calories
- 1/2 Think Thin bar~120 calories (they really fill me up so I can only eat half and feel satisfied)
- Apple with 1 tbsp. peanut butter~110 calories
- 1 1/2 oz sharp cheddar cheese cubes~155 calories

All those are amazing ideas! I'll have to try the veggies and cottage cheese idea- I'm trying to love cottage cheese. Like really trying. PB2 and fruit are a new fav of mine! So delish and satisfies my sweet tooth!
ReplyDeleteLovely ideas! Lately I'm enjoying a pear with ricotta and a sprinkle of cinnamon--even better if I warm the pear and cinnamon in the microwave first! Also, grapefruit is a fave for me, but I loooove eating mine with salt! No really, it's so good!
ReplyDeleteI needed to read this today! I was in desperate need of some new snack ideas. Thanks for posting!

ReplyDeleteyumm! so many great ideas! I always snack on the worst food and break my diet!
ReplyDeleteAll of the snacks that you pictures are some I my fave snacks- especially the laughing cow cheese! Also, my 4 year old doesn't like gummy worms, isn't that weirdo? And I could totally nom on a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips! Lets add that to our list for our get together, along with Mexican and Starbucks!
