I just downloaded Spotify Premium at the suggestion of a friend. If I am gonna be running for hour(s) at a time, I better get some good jams to help me out! It's $9.99 a month but I figured thats about 8-9 songs on iTunes and I can cancel it at any time. Plus, Premium has the option listen to music offline so I don't have to use any extra data (that sounds sooo nerdy). This is like the first tech-y thing I've done with my smartphone and I love it! I am the girl who still sticks post-its to my phone to remind me to do stuff....yes I know I could set up a reminder but for some reason that doesn't work as well for me. Call me old-fashioned.....I call it "classic" HA!
This past weekend had a couple fat days in there (amazing reunion with college bffs = DRINKS! and a baby shower) but Sunday I cleaned it right back up and even had a couple NSVs:
- no beer when we were hangin at the local brew pub (chug that water!)
- no fried food when I was hungry and that's all said brew pub had to offer
- ordered a spinach salad with salmon when we got to the dinner restaurant
As for the DietBet week one, I am down 2 lbs and 3.8 more to go! I love a good contest and the participants in this one are so encouraging! But even after I meet my dietbet goal, I still have more to lose. Remember I gained 10 lbs since July (5 "happy pounds" right after the wedding and another 5 more around the holidays/January) so I am glad to see the scale heading in the other directions! I fully expect half marathon training to help get me eating right (who can do long runs fueled by fried cheese curds and sugary candy bars? Not me!) and back to normal!
Here is my blog plan going forward. I will be using Tuesdays to discuss my half training and other randomness, and continue to post recipes on Thursdays. I love posting recipes that are quick, easy and good (thats what she said). I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen and I doubt any of you do either (who's got time fo dat? ain't nobody!) Plus, I love sharing healthy recipes that are husband-approved! As I've said before, the biggest secret is to not even mention it is healthy and most of the time he won't even notice! I'm always on the hunt for healthy & delicious recipes, so I love sharing when I find a good one.
Thanks for reading everyone, and make it a great week!

Good for you with the NSVs! And dropping weight in the dietbet! I still can't give up my Faturdays though. Maybe I won't stuff myself as much but I need some fooooood!
ReplyDeleteI know what it feels like to train for a half! It's intense! You can do it girl! It's 75% a mental game - remember that!
ReplyDeleteI live in Indiana too (Bloomington, actually) and I am counting down the days for acceptable weather to start C25K OUTSIDE! The dreadmill is not for me. I want to teach myself to love running, not hate it even more than I already do! Oh, I also nominated you for a Liebster Award. No clue what that even is, but I nominated you anyway! It's on my blog!
ReplyDeleteYAY for a great loss girl.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so exciting to start the half training? I love that I have a plan for every day of the week!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love that you put post-its on your phone. Hilarious!!
